Hi there guys. We got some abandoned duck eggs and I've been incubating them in a turner, but today when I transferred them out of the turner (it's day 25) and into the hatching incubator I noticed this ghost image of a duckling on the side of the egg. What does this mean? This wasn't there 4 days ago when I took the eggs out to weigh them. Any help you be appreciated. Thanks!
It may be from misting. I don't have any good photos of it, but I've got similar staining on the eggs that are about to hatch. The only difference is about half of them have a distinct grid pattern because they got just a bit less water which settled on the shelf liner. The ones that got more water have a blob-like stain. more water.. so the water pooled around the shelf liner. Just my feeling, but I think it's just happenstance that it looks duck-like.
I hope so! Like I said my current batch has these stains.. They're in lock down now, and if they're not okay, then they don't seem to be showing it.
