I ordered 10 giant blue cochin eggs and recieved 12 eggs. I thought it was very nice of the seller to add extras just in case any broke. All arrived safely and 11 out of the 12 were fertile. Well the 11 are hatching as I type. I am watching them hatch and I am excited because usually they don't hatch while I am home or they hatch during the night LOL So far 4 have hatched. I am waiting til the rest hatch to take a group shot of them. So far none are blue, black and white the look like to me and a light brown/tan. Hopefully I will get a blue one! Pictures coming as soon as they all hatch!

Congratulations!! How exciting! I've never hatched eggs myself, but it is something I plan on trying next year. Please post pics. I hope you get some blues too. Blue, in any breed, I feel is just so pretty. Of course, I know your babies will be georgous no matter what the color.

I am still waiting on one egg. The egg has the pointy peep or pipping crack but nothing else. All the others hatched and are still drying off. I will get some pics later today after they all dry off. None of the ones that hatched are blue - bummer but the ones that did are cute as heck LOL!

None were born blue but I tried. I do have more in the incubator started today. Sorry so late but I dropped my camera and couldn't get it to work all day. Will try to get more tomorrow

pic above the larger chicks - the black one on the left and the silver one on top next to the black one are both silkies, the 3 on the right and the one in the middle on left are the cochin babies.

The last one to hatch, almost lost her she got out of the warm section and I found her ice cold. Put her back into the bator and she bounced back. My 90 year old grandma has named her "peepers"

I love the coloring on the middle one, he is peachy/orange with black lines but he has no feathers on his feet

I think this little guy in the middle is absolutely precious. Reminds me of a penguin. Congratulations on your new babies!!!

Those are really cute, and I think two of them look like they could blue out, with the darker coloring around the face? Maybe you got some lemon blues? I do think all cochins have feathered feet though. Did you get 11 of 12 eggs to hatch? That is a great hatch rate, were they shipped eggs? I am itching to turn my bator back on..............................
