I was given a pheasant last night by someone who saved him from being killed. I know some but not alot. He's a make ring neck pheasant and looks like he's molting? He still looks like a poult any advice would be great

What kinda advice you looking for?He needs to be in a covered pen or he will fly off.He needs a gamebird feed.He can not live with chickens, best that he is not kept close to them. His perches need to be out of reach for predators to reach in and grab him.Fresh water, wormed 2 times per year. They love fruits, veggies, mealworms, insects, peanuts(unsalted only). You may want to give him some suet to help feather growth.Any other ?'s feel free to ask.

Chickens carry diseases that they can handle, but will kill a pheasant.Pheasants get more stress from being moved around.Place in a pen where you plan to keep him and he will get use to his surrounding and know that he will be safe. They should not be around ducks either as they are always mudding their pen up and this will not be good for your pheasant.
