I am five weeks and one day old. I seem a little small, and I still have patches of fluff. I have a small yellow comb, no wattles, and my earlobes are just starting to appear and turn light pink.

    Am I a boy or a girl?

I will go with pullet for this one.

Oh I do hope you're right - we'd love to keep the cute little fuzzbutt, but a roo would not be tolerated by our neighbours.

    Fingers crossed! [IMG]

Anyone else think we've got a pullet here? I'd love some more good news!

I say pullet because she looks a lot like my Australorp when she was the same age. She had me worried though, so I combed through the archives here a few weeks back and found that many Australorp cockerels seem to get their red color, comb and wattles pretty early, in the 4-6 week old range. Here's a thread with a 6-wk old cockerel for comparison. I'm fairly confident that my 9 week old is a girl; small comb & wattles and no color on either.

    Thanks Freyja!

    So, thus far, it's Pullet 2 - Roo 0!

    Hurrah!

    Hurray hurray hurray!!!!!!

So, I think we'll start calling her Daisy now then (instead of Leo, which I was reserving for a boy)

I miss my Lorps. They were good birds.
