Girls or Boys? (Wyandottes & EE's)

    all these babies are 3wks old now.

    I think these ones are girls, they all have more feather growth on their tails and combs aren't as red.

    And I THINK these ones are probably boys. almost no tail feathers yet and the combs are a little more puffy or red.

    Bleenie- I thinks you are correct- based on my limited experience w/ feather sexing.

    They are still awfully young to tell for sure, but my guess is that dark blue is the only cockerel. We'll wait and see though [​IMG]

    My neighbor had a Wyandotte that didn't feather until after 4 weeks of age, including wing and tail. It ended up as a hen.

    I think 4 weeks is still a bit young. Maybe in a couple weeks you'll know for sure. The males will grow wattles much more prominent and quicker along with the redness of the comb.

    I have some silver and golden laced wyandotte babies and they are almost 5 weeks and i am just now starting to tell the difference in roos and hens. I would give yours another week or 2

    That roo doesn't look like a Wyandotte? It has the wrong comb-type
