Giving Mama New Chicks After Hers Die

I know it is possible to give a broody hen some chicks for her to raise. Is it also possible to give Mama new chicks after hers die?

My poor Mama hen hatched and raised her own SINGLE baby for 5 days and it just got killed. I suspect a cat, but am not sure. Mama is upset and is running around clucking and calling. She also stands over the dead baby in order to prevent me from removing it. I feel so bad for her. And for the dead baby too. I'm told the farm store still has some chicks. Is there a way I can give her one?

You can try, but that far out she might not accept it as hers and may try to kill it.

I would try giving her two. If she doesn't accept them, they'll have a companion. Just watch her close.
