I am curious to know what product you take for your arthritis. My dad is 74 years old,has broken his back in three different areas over the years. He is in so much discomfort and I'm really sick of the doctor pumping him with cortisone and prescribing heavy duty narcotics. He doesn't want to take the pills and I don't blame him. We both feel that is just masking the problem. He would like to take a supplement instead.
I know there are a million different brands but would like to hear from you what works best
    Thanks!!

Does your dad take those supplements already? I know this might be silly for me to respond, but my dog has really bad knees on his back legs. It was so terrible I thought I'd have to put him down because the surgery was like $1500.00 per leg. Well,,,,I give him that glynclosamine/condroiton stuff, and it's a miracle! You wouldn't even know he has bad legs......

my point is, if it can work for a little dog, it's gotta be good for human joints too......I plan on getting myself some. I've got back issues, shoulder issues and neck issues.....

I feel for your dad. Good luck!

Yes my dog is on it also and I agree it works wonders. I guess my question is what brand works well for humans?

Oh boy, I do not know what brand.....I would just read labels. Now they have pills, and I've also seen a daily drink you can take. The Sams Club has the drinks. I think I would read the label, so you would get the most amount of active ingredient......

Some people don't believe it works, however, studies have shown that most people who use this supplement improve 25%, and it did wonders for me!!!

Quote:I get the target brand that gives you 1500 mg a dose (two doses a day). The juice is basically worthless as there is only about 500 mg and you need way more than that to be effective.

I use Glucosamine also for my lupus pain. It has not made the pain go away, but it is now bearable and tolerable. I definietly notice a difference when I don't take it. At the moment I am trying a new (to me) product called CM response. I am still in the loading phase so really can't say if it is helping or not, but it is also something to check into. The other thing that helps with my RA is accupuncture, really notice a difference.

DH has osteoarthritis in both knees and will need at least one of them scoped. We just can't afford it this year. I got him to start taking Calcium w/ D and MSM. He went from being in pain 24/7, wearing 1 hinged knee brace, 1 elastic knee brace and taking at least 2 Alieves a day to at most one Alieve a day and only the elastic knee brace. He's not limping anymore. It's only been about 1 1/2 months. One of the side effects is that he's not getting leg cramps anymore, which he used to get frequently.

Creatine is a supplent you might get him to start taking, creatine, like stuff you get in the health food section but in the plain container not the shake. Our neromuscular Dr did research and it has been proven to grow bone cells, this might provent future bone problems, really healthy and even my 4 year old was put on it. Heck It's proven to help with muscular dystrophy were no treatment can be used with a increase in muscle stangth and ability to retain the muscle that the person has left.
