    The North Valley Dairy Goat Association is proud to present our 2nd Annual Goat Education Day! If you are interested in goats, please come join us at the Tehama District Fairgrounds in Red Bluff, on Saturday November 6, 2010 for a day packed with classes on everything goat! All goat industries will be represented- dairy, meat, pack, fiber and pygmy! Over 56 hours of goat related classes offered!

    Topics include:

    Dairy: nutrition, showmanship, cheese making, soap making, mastitis, photography, raw milk production, homesteading & more!

    Meat: nutrition, carcass quality, showmanship, grazing, chevon recipes & more!

    Pack: wether nutrition, beginning packing & more!

    Pygmy: wether nutrition & a pygmy show right next door!

    General goat health topics include: herd health, building shelters, kidding and reproduction, predator control, fecal testing for parasites, and many more, plus how-to demonstrations on drawing blood, giving vaccinations, hoof trimming, etc

    Presenters consist of well-known industry professionals and breeders, veterinarians, and representatives from UC Davis, Chico State University and Shasta Community College. There will be many vendors on site all day, a great raffle, and a silent auction for several quality goat kids (dairy, pack & Boer). Come out and join us for a day of fun and goats!


    $15 all-day

    $5 youth all-day (under 18)

    $3 per hour drop-in rate

    $5 extra charge for 2 hour long Raw Milk Production/Raw Milk Consumption Class
