We're thinking about getting a dairy goat, and I'm not ready to feed raw milk to my (human) kids.

What does pasteurizing do to the flavor?

IMO It makes it taste 'goatie'...we prefer it raw.

Quote:It will have a distinct "cooked" flavor. Two parts licking a goat, one part "burnt milk". Mmm. [IMG]

Raw is the way to go if you know your goats are healthy.

If you purchase a pasteurizer , so it is done correctly, I personally do not taste the difference.

Blech! I can lick a goat without all the work of milking.
I'll pass that on to Husband.

    Thanks guys!
