Going to by incubator and hatch chicks this time

Since I lost my whole flock last week to coyotes. This time instead of buy young chicks at feed store, thought I would incubate instead.

yeah! Go for it! I think it's just so exciting watching chicks hatch.. it's amazing!!
plus you get them right away, not at 2-3 days old, or older!

I'm sorry about your flock, but good luck with your hatching project!

What are you going to do to protect your new flock against another coyote attack? I lost most of my flock last summer to a fox, and we strung enough hotwire to dim the electrical grid, which seems to have worked so far, but Spring fox kitting season's coming up again, so I'm starting to get nervous. Looking for good ideas on what's worked for everyone else!
