Gold Laced Wyandotte pullet?Wierd ears?

A friend obtained this Gold laced Wyandotte and gifted it to me. We believe it is about 20 -25 weeks old and close to POL. It is a hen, right? What is up with the wierd ears? Never seen that before. Skittish little thing, but can show better pics if needed. Just need to id.

Glad to hear it is a hen. Not quite laying yet, but close it looks like. Yes she has crazy ears but hopefully she is ok.
