Over the period of 2 weeks at least 10 of my above pheasants have come up with swollen eyes - to the point the eye is not visible anymore. It is swollen around and under the eye and discharge coming from the eye area as well as nasal passages. Both "nose" holes are clogged and they are breathing through the mouth. I used Dumosol 500mg ( Metronidazole) in the water but although the earlier birds with symptoms recovered the 8 or so birds seem to continue with the symptoms without any recovery. Can you tell me what the problem might be and what medication to use to treat them.
    Thank you!

I would try to clean out the nostrils of mucus or food or whatever is blocking them. Hydrogen peroxide and tooth picks might help. It sounds like they have a respiratory disease such as MG or CRD, but the ones still with symptoms could have a secondary infection or perhaps the metronidazole isn't effective against the infection. Tylan or oxytetracycline are usually effective against MG. I'm not really familiar with pheasants. Your picture is not showing up for me. It may be that you need to make a few more posts to post pictures. Welcome to BYC.
