We bought this hen in the assorted breeds bin at a local store and are wondering what breed she is. Our best guess is a Golden Comet or Red Star. Any ideas?[IMG][/IMG]

    Agree she's a New Hampshire.

Comets and Stars are both red sex links. As a rule, those hens have the same base color as your girl, but white tips and tails. Your hen has black in her tail, and likely around her neck in places. That means New Hampshire.

Thanks! We were confused by her white feathers on her back. Thanks for explaining!
