Golden comets laying green eggs?

I bought 5 chicks at a local family farm and home, that were sold as golden comets, but they lay green eggs. I have had golden comets + isa browns in the past, and they have always laid brown eggs so I am kinda confused.
They also have white earlobes, not sure if that's a clue or not. I know they are probably mutts of some sort, just wondering what breeds they could be a mix of. 😁

They are most likely either Starlight Green Eggers or Whiting True Greens, two hatchery Easter-egger hybrids that look remarkably similar to red sexlinks like Golden Comets, unless you know that the farm store gets their chicks from somewhere other than a hatchery. Do you know where they get their chicks?

Someone mixed up the chicks and gave you "eggers" bred for green eggs instead. :D
I have the same thing happening. I have EE’rs but I have 3 with white earlobes. I have such a mixed up mess from TSC. They were supposed to be 4 sapphire gem , and 2 black americanas? And 1 Isa brown and 1 golden comet. The Isa brown is right and golden comet. Am pretty sure is correct. I ordered 6 EE’rs from a family owned feed store and I’m pretty sure at least 4 of them are EE’rs. I’ve got a variety of eggs but no white. Someone had suggested I had brown leghorns and I agree that they do resemble them but no white or cream colored eggs🤷🏼‍♀️ . Can someone please help me sort my mess out? I’m posting pics off some of my eggs n my pullets. I have asked a few times but have not gotten any reply’s but one that thought the ones with white earlobes may be brown leghorns. I would be so thankful for any of ya’lls opinions. A lot of ya’ll have so much experience.

The bearded one is a typical Easter egger.

Red sex links (Novagens and Golden comets are both brands of sex links) can look very similar to Starlight green eggers. Both can have white earlobes. So go by egg color with these. Green/blue for the eggers, brown for the sex links. Red sex links should be red/gold with white highlights on the tail, hackle, wings. That dark red one without white is probably a production Rhode Island red if it lays brown eggs, or could be Starlight green egger if it lays green eggs.

The last photo looks a bit like a brown Leghorn, but it is typical of a Starlight green egger.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I had been wondering if the dark brown was a Rhode island red too, she lays brown eggs. I’ve got a flock of a lil of this n lil of that. I believe I’m not going to get anymore biddies at TSC. If I expand my flock I would like to know what I’m breeding. If I have a one go broody I may try to buy 4-5 fertilized eggs. Timing would be tricky. Again thank you
