I recently hatched six golden neck d'Uccle chicks. All but one developed exactly the way a golden neck should. The one cockerel in question started developing feathers with the gold and creamy white.....but as time went on, he started to develop a beautiful blue in his wing and tail feathers. I've searched genetics, etc but cannot figure out how he became mostly golden/creamy white but with the blue as well. Would anyone here be able to tell me why or how this happened?

Most likely he is only Heterozygous dominant white

Here is the boy I’m curious about.... the blue in his wings looks more silver or slate blue but his tail is true blue, imo

Well this is out of my zone. I don't know what to say. I can't answer this question, but would like to see the answer of someone who can. I'll be watching this thread.

I’m wondering if they were not Golden Necks but Slash Mille Fluer. And yes I am having a very hard time understanding the difference because somethings you read say they are the same thing and then you’ll have people tell you know they are totally different. But If you breed a Blue MF to a Blue MF you get splash a lot of the time. Which look like Golden Necks. So wondering if that is why you are getting the leakage of the blue.
