Male will also have a small bare spot under the eye, almost like a tear drop
SORRY ABOUT ALL THE POSTS<HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY COMPUTER.LET ME KNOW IF ANYONE WANTS SEXING PICS OF OTHER SPECIES.LIKE ELLIOTS<SWINHOE<SILVERS.
thank you for the pics! going by those, my two red goldens are males. i can't really see the male yellow golden eye color in the pic. is it blueish? my yellow goldens eyes look exactly the same color as my reads (and yours, from the pic)
I'd say you need to start shopping for hens then.
lol...well. i need to start hunting for a few, for sure. and i'll have to rehome a few males. i'll just keep one of each i think and try to find 5-6 females for them.
Good luck with that,In my past hatchings of Golden breeds, males usually out number the hens 2 to 1.Therefore the price difference between males and females is quite a bit.In other breeds such as Swinhoe and Elliots I usually run heavy to hens.I would say you should be happy to find one of each breed (and of course keep them seperated as not to crossbreed them)and start from there.
at what age do you start to see the eye color difference? Thanks!
I guess I should have looked on here before going out to the pens and started bird wrangling.
