Gonna get some chickies for my patio.

Retired and intend to play with Grandkids, rabbits and chickies (when I get them) Live in town and need to build a portable coop. Got my plans drawn. want 2 chickens for eggs and pets of course. What kind do you think I should get? 4x4x6 with run below. Being built on old heavy duty barbeque grill stand. So excited.

I would get some version of a bantam size, not a standard size. Check out the breeds page and that will give you a place to start. It tells about egg production, temperament, cold hardiness, etc. Plus the pictures will provide eye candy! Have fun picking your birds, but stay on this site and read, read, and read some more, BEFORE you get your birds or build your coop. You will be glad you did.
