Hi!
I was wondering what duck hatcheries have you all had great success with? Which ones have you not had success with? I will be looking to order three hens and a drake, and the breed I'm planning on getting is Welsh Harlequins.
Thank you!:)

My experiences with My Pet Chicken have been very good.

The first time out I didn't know what I was doing. They talked me through it and were very flexible about making changes for me. At every stage the communication was great -- personal responses when quoting FAQs probable would have done.

For my second order I specified females one of which as turned out to be a roo. They refunded my purchase price and offered to put me in touch with folks who would re-home him (not necessary as it turns out, we really love him and he's gorgeous!).

Two local feed stores near me won't provide a guarantee on sex. I've been at one when unsuspecting roo parents brought their bird back and heard the argument that ensued.

All my chicks have arrived healthy despite the fact that SoCal was a rather long trip for them.

Getting birds shipped is anxious business but I can't say enough good things about My Pet Chicken.

It all depends on what you're looking for. I haven't seen any show quality birds come from any of the above named hatcheries, but the up-side is that they do sell sexed birds. Most show breeders will only sell "straight run" and you just have to cross your fingers, and maybe cull some of the extra males, but you do end up with some stellar birds that way!
