Can chickens eat earthworms?
Hello and welcome to BYC!
Sure they eat pretty much everything! Bugs are a chickens most favorite treat. Earthworms do carry parasites however, so I wouldn't catch and feed these worms to your birds. Its ok if they find a few here and there, but too many of them could cause issues in the long run.
Have you stopped by our learning center yet? All kinds of great articles on all the aspects of keeping chickens including treats and other goodies you can feed them... https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
Make yourself at home here and if you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
Welcome to our flock!
Glad you could join the flock! I too agree with TwoCrows!! Mine love helping with the garden and the earth worms are a lovely treat for them. I have one hen Ginny and she can spot them from a mile off!
She has a head start as she does not have a crest like my polish so it's easier for her to spot them.
Please do pop by the learning centre link left for you. Lots of surer articles there that I'm sure you will find most helpful.
