Good news: We got our fist egg yesterday. Bad news: It must have rolled out of the nest box because I found it on the coop floor broken. But i have fixed that problem and hopefully no more will be rolling out. But at least the egg laying has begun and with any luck we will be eating egg sandwiches very soon.

If that ever happens again, be sure to clean it up ASAP. If they get into the habit of eating their own eggs, its a bugger to get them to quit. Some are so addicted to the taste that the only way to stop them is the soup pot.
