Finally after a year of waiting my wyandotte has finally started laying bad news she is not laying in the next boxes were the other are. Should I not let them free range for a while so she hopefully will learn to lay in boxes? Thanks all in advance fyi she is laying just outside coop under camper.

One of my layers decided that the wood pile was a nice play to lay. They got locked in the coop for about 3 days. Fixed the issue.

I usually keep my pullets confined to the coop and run for the first month of laying so they get used to using the nest boxes. Otherwise, they could hide eggs anywhere!

Shut them in the coop today and got 5/5eggs. I will do the same tomorrow and hope for the same. Thanks all
