I am so sad. I just accepted a job in Slidell, LA but I dont think they allow chickens....

I looked at the municpal code site and it doesnt give much info... or at least understandable info...

it does say no livestock in city limits... are chicken live stock...
it also says no fowl.... are chicken fowl....

I never even got my chicken... and now never will... I have been a lurker for a year... preparing for the day....

goodbye chicken buddies...

Hey obsessed, there are a lot of tiny banties out there that you could get a hen and keep her in the house..... Just a thought. Heck, you could even get a huge parrot cage to put her in while you are gone.. There are TONS of people that have house chickens. If the city is big enough the people wont have a clue what kind of bird it is. We had a guy come out to get an appraisal on our place a few years ago and he said he was at a farm getting pics when a peacock flew up to the peek of the house. One of the pics he got was with this male peacock in full glory on the top of the house. He sent that one to the financers in CA. They called him and asked what kind of bird was on the house and he told them that was an Iowa Chicken. They were amazed and didnt have a clue he was joking. He never did tell them what it really was. Good luck, Jenn

UMMMMM, don't move into the city limits. I know that area well. I have family there. Stay out of the city limits. Then, you could have your cake and eat it too, or have your eggs and eat them too!!!!

Good grief, are you serious!? I have lived in Louisiana and find it hard to believe there's a place in the whole state that doesn't allow chickens!
