Goose fattening question

So,I heard of a local method of fattening ganders,it is said to work,but I want to ask other goose keepers for advice.So,this mathod bassicly consists in slipping a coin(a very small one ,1 cent or so) and it is said that once the coin gets in the gizzard,it will rubb the birds gizard walls so the goose will fell hungry and eat a huge amount of corn,producing a foie gras,but a non forcefed one.So do you goose keepers think this acctually works or the goose will simply eliminate the coin in its poop with no hunger results?
