my roman tufted gander has a very swollen foot pad. This happened last year also and went away. this time it really seems to be painful for him and dosn't appear to be going away.

we picked him up and it looks perfectly fine except for the swelling. it doesn't look like bumblefoot as there is no black or open sore.

should i start him on a antibiotic? I use Tylan for my chickens can this be used on geese?

any suggestions appreciated.

Update on my goose with swollen foot.

We took him to a very good vet. It will cost approx 500.00 to exray and operate to see what is causing the swelling.

We opted to home treat with antibiotic Zeniquin and pressure wrap the foot. Hopefully, we will see improvment by Monday when we replace the wrap.

Personally, I Know I'm not a vet or anything but I think it may be bursitis. any comments on this.

Hi, Noticed you weren't getting any replies. Two suggestions, post in injuries/disease forum and try and post a pic. Good luck with goose. Have a Roo with a swollen foot I'm starting to get concerned about and was just looking myself.
