Set 5 eggs in my homemade incubator 2 weeks ago. Lost power on Monday while we were out. When I got home late, the eggs were cold. Temp in Bator dropped to 50 degrees. Power was off since early morning. Bummer. First time incubating. Cracked open one & little chickie was cold too. So sad. :( Power back on now. Gonna set some more & try again. :)

Next time that happens, continue on with the incubation. At that maximum low for that period, the eggs may very well have been viable.

Hopefully it won't happen again. Will remember your suggestion though should it happen again. Thanks!
