I got 4 asorted straight run chicks today, bought 2 and someone brought two back that were males and couldn't have them so the store gave them to me. I was wondering if older hens that have been vaccinated for Mericks could get Mericks from chicks that may not have been vaccinated. Right now I have the chicks in a muck bucket with chicken wire over the top with a heat lamp over them in the coop.

Unlikely, but Marek's is everywhere, so you can't really ever be sure. However, it's likely the hens will kill the chicks if you put them together. To be relatively safe, the chicks need to grow to adult size before you mix them.

I put the chicks on a muck bucket with a heat lamp in the coop. I showed the chickens the chicks and they were scared of chicks. I still keep them separate but I still keep the chicks in the coop to let the hens get to know the chicks.
