I got 4 new ducklings. All four are Anconas'. Large ducks, but two are actually very small.the two large ones, and one of the small ones looks very healthy, but the other small one, walks on the back of its legs, and is stumbled and picked at.

He will be held tons, and we'll probably end up seperated sadly....

    But they are becoming friendly!

Congrats! I got Ancona's too this year, they sure are cute ducklings. I love their black spots on their feet and beaks. Mine are roughly 4 weeks old though, so they're in the awkward, smelly, messy phase. Pretty soon they get the boot outside, they're much more enjoyable then. [IMG]

I hear ya, mine scatter like crazy. "THE HAND!!!!!" I hope they settle down a little once they are outside and learn what treats are. I have 13 so it was impossible to try and play with each one, to keep them tame like I've been doing with my goslings (kept separate just for that reason)

I call them my little Holsteins [IMG]

I took one out the grow out pen,and let it out with the big guys and watched. She started doing her bill at them and they were offended.my large drake just kinda faced off with her,and adventually just said "She's a kid, she'll learn." and then walked off.A few minutes after that, she tried chasing our runner duck, she just kinda of threw her bill at her, then actually ran at her.The chickens were vicious, one actually grabbed her and ripped a few feathers out (Never letting her by that chicken till she's big enough to fend for herself.)The year old ducks weres cared (ALL my year old animals had no idea what babies were), (Accept for a majority of the pullets.)
