I have 6 eggs under a Brahma hen, this is her first clutch of eggs and my first time hatching out chicks with a broody. I was just wondering when the chicks hatch in the next 12 days or so, will I need a brooder and a heat lamp to keep them warm, or can I keep them in my separate coop with the broody and let her do the work? Letting the broody do the work would be easier for me but whatever is best for the chicks I will do.

Having her sit on them is best, however this is her first hatch so beware that things can go wrong. I would have the supplies on hand just in case she gets confused and doesn't take to them.
I had a first time broody kill her chicks. This is rare, but not impossible.
