I live in Northern Indiana, and wonder if I could raise Belgian Bearded d'Uccle Bantams. I hear they don't handle winter well, would the handle my Indiana winters? What if any extra care would they need?
    Thanks in advance.

I have raised d'uccles in upstate NY (about the coldest you can get except AK) and they managed very well. From what I can see they are one of the most winter hardy breeds you can find. The have abundant feathers for warmth and every part of their body is covered (feet, ears, eyes). The only problem they have is that if they are out in the wet when its cold they tend to chill because all of that foot feathering acts like a sponge.
