I'm interested in seeing whether anyone has good pictures showing mites on their chickens.

I'm concerned that I may have a mite issue on some of our girls and have treated several times with Sevin Dust. I haven't seen any really good pictures of mites at the base of feathers or the vent and am interested to know for certain what I'm looking at/for.

    Thanks!

Quote:I have actually run across this link several times but it doesn't look quite like that on my birds, so maybe I'm just worried for nothing or perhaps I caught them early. It looks like a dusty, greyish/browinsh powdery substance really close to the base of the feather, not so much up the feather. And I am only finding it near the tail feathers (and that frightening oil gland thingy). Thanks for sharing that link.
