Yesterday I got dizzy sitting on the couch. It felt like the blood rushed to my head, like when you where a kid and you stood on your head. Has that happened to any of you? Should I be worried?

It happens to me quite frequently. The sensation to me reminds me of when I was a kid and went to high on the swing.
I have low blood pressure, that combined with the medications I take is what I blame mine on and my doctor agrees.
If it keeps up I would schedule a dr's appt.

Yes, I have low blood pressure too and it happens to me also. Years ago, I passed out cold and my husband rushed me to the hospital and they did several tests EKG, EEG etc and found nothing wrong so I'm just extra careful especailly when I get up from a nap. Just make sure you sit up and get your wits about you and then slowly stand up. It takes some getting use to.

This is happening when I am not moving. It just comes up on me. I thought I was going to pass out. It only lasted maybe 7-10 seconds. Not very long.

It's a great big flashing neon sign that says,
    "GO TO THE DOCTOR!"

Dizzy is not a normal reaction to anything good.
I don't think anyone here is a Dr. of medicine.
(I have a Phd in religion and philosophy, but that don't count nun 'tall) [IMG][IMG]

    Let me re-phrase that.....

"GET SOMEONE ELSE TO DRIVE YOU TO THE DOCTOR"

Your Dr. may be the one to see about that. Getting dizzy while doing sudden movements from a stand still is one thing, but getting dizzy while sitting on a couch with no exertion is a bit concerning. However, if it was a one time thing, I personally wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.

Heart problems that are not chronic are nearly impossible to diagnose. If a pattern develops, might want to see a cardiologist and they will strap you up with a event monitor and if it can be induced, you press a a button and it records where the problem may be.

Could be any number of other things too if it isn't your heart, and it could have been just how you were feeling that released some hormone that just dropped your pressure for the moment. Being tired or at the end of a long day could have just worn you out. If it was me, I wouldn't worry at all... but I'm not at an age where this kind of stuff is to be that concerned about as bouncing back is like nothing. If you are older, a doctor may be a good option. Or during your next check up, mention it.
