How appropriate. This is my first egg. It is from Ena, one of my Americaunas.
It has a great shape and the shell seems nice and strong. I think it's pretty good for a first try.

How old is Ena? Just trying to keep up when the different breeds start laying. I do realize they mature at different rates even within the breed. I see it in my own hens. Some have red combs and others are just starting to develop their combs.

Quote:I'm not sure of her exact hatch date, but it was in Feb. We got her from a breeder at the end of June. Really, in just the last 7-10 days, her pea comb turned bright red. They other two's are still very pale. So that should be 7 months, give or take a couple of weeks.

What a pretty egg! We ate our first EE eggs yesterday...we finally had enough for breakfast. We've been eating eggs from our Golden Comets for 3 weeks now...but we finally had enough EE eggs. They were delish!
