This women who has grandchildren that did 4H shows with Chickens. I purchased two hens from her. A Barred Rock, and a Black Silkie (who did very well at show). They warned me about the Barred Rock that she is top of the ranking order in the flock, so be warned. I was a bit scared because once we got home, she was already pecking at the poor little silkie hen. The silkie hen is fine, just I hated seeing her get pecked at. I know I should have quarantined them for a bit, but I trusted this women because her flock of birds where in great shape, and all have been blood tested and tagged. So I know they are clean. Husband introduced the Barred Rock and the silkie. We have a Sexlink who is top hen, and she did one little peck and ran from the Barred Rock. While the other sexlinks took one look at her and all ran from her. The only issue was the silkie rooster. He worked so hard to get up in the higher ranks and he wasn't going to back down. After a quick spat at each other, he won! He did a few crows, and went back to dancing next to the new female silkie. Poor guy has a few blood spots, but he's ok.
