Okay, so I met a fellow BYCer today and picked a few new EE pullets for my boys. They are really pretty. My only concern is their feet. Maybe someone can tell me how to clear them up? They're a bit scaley and bulky looking.

    Here's some photos:
This first one, I was told was a hen, I'm 100% certain it's a rooster. If anyone agrees with me, I have a FREE Easter Egger cockerel available.

    White with black speckles

    Grey and Tan- DH's favorite

    Gorgeous light creme

2 regular partridge-ish colored. The one on the left has curly toes.

All, except the creme colored one, have feet like this:

HOW do I fix this? It's gross and none of my birds have ever had it.

By the way, I'm not complaining. Anyone with that many birds couldn't possibly know/see individuals, just masses. I definitely didn't want a rooster, I have too many. But these birds are very pretty, imo. Just need a little work.

As soon as I saw him I thought that's no hen - then I read the caption underneath. I would say you have a rooster among the girls. They are all very pretty birds. I have no idea about the legs - could it be mites? If so, I have read to coat the legs with vaseline for a couple of weeks along with treating the coop area and that should clear it up.

    Thank you [IMG]

All our EE roos are named after Harry Potter characters, so the pullets will be too.

So far, the names are as follows:

    Grey & Tan= Buckbeak
    Creme= Luna
    White w/ black speckles= Minerva
    Partridge-ish colored one= Bellatrix
    " " with curly toes= Crookshanks

And the demon roo is Voldemort until he finds a new home. LOL

Lovely birds. 1st one is a roo for sure.
They have scaly leg mite. Search the forum for effective cures & beware, it's contagious so you really don't want your original birds to get it.
