Hello,

This weekend I bought a GQF 1266, and it is running like a dream, so I set 3 emu eggs in it, but my question is, How do you know when they are done hatching if you have the solid door? I may be able to get an Acrylic one before they hatch, but I spent way too much this weekend already, so it will have to wait. Do you just wait to hear noises, then wait a day before opening it? I was thinking I may be able to rig up a web cam sorta thing, but I don't know if the Humidity would mess with it.

a quick peek after a 24 hour period the day after they hatch will not hurt, or buy the door in 2 weeks and put it on, its very easy and quick to do, but if you are worried about the temp. place a towl over the door till you are finished

I Will probably end up Buying the Acrylic. With Chicks it wouldn't be an issue because they are pretty reliable to be out by end of day 22, Emus hatch anywhere from day 50-55, and I don't know how long they actually take to get out of the shell.
