I have a broody hen and I purchased 6 3 day old bard rock pullets at tsc. The other pet store had leghorns and Easter eggers which I wanted for my flock but they were 6 days old. The hen has raised chicks for me in the past but they were always 2-3 days old and she always does a really good job. What is the chance she will take older chicks? I am grafting them tonight.

If she's brooded before and done well, I'd give the older chicks a try. If you put them all with her together, she should accept them.

sometimes with older chicks, it's not that the momma won't take them, it's that they won't take the momma. But I think these babies are still little enough to want to snuggle under her.
