Grass sod

I just put some grass sod into my brooder i have 2 2 week old chicks and a week old bantam. Are they too young? I don't have any grit.... been feeding medicated chick starter

Not too young.
They will need some grit to digest grass, but they may be able to pick some out of the sod--it depends on the soil type. (Grit is really just rocks, of a size the chicken can swallow. It does not have to come in a labelled bag from the store.)
