i suggest you try and catch this "furthur" tour if you get a chance. http://www.furthur.net/

    it
is the closest to the real thing since jerry died. bob weir and phil lesh are doing it with a really impressive, talented group of guys backing them up.

John Kadlecik of the Dark Star Orchestra (grateful dead cover band) is so much like jerry garcia that bob and phil got him to come on board to play jerry's role.
Joe Russo is probably one of the better drummers out there on the jamband scene.
Jeff Chimenti The Dead's keyboardist knows the music in and out.
Jay Lane is the other drummer and he comes from bob's band ratdog, he also knows the tunes in and out

I'm a fan [IMG] I can tell a few good stories from those days too.

I've seen a few concerts here in MI with that line up, and it was great to be around all the great people again. It's not quite the same, but the people are, and I'll be going again when they come thru town.

Haven't ya ever gone to Hookahville?

Ratdog opened for Ekoostik Hookah last time I went- a whole weekend festival, they do it every Memorial Day weekend at Buckeye Lake. Nelson's Ledges is a great spot too.

I did see "The Dead" one last time at Blossom Music Center- but the security was ridiculous, and the crappy watered-down beers were $10 each.

    Ahhh those were the days......

Ha haha- I like all the comments about Haynes under the video. When I saw him with the Dead I was kinda turned off by how much they let him do.
Liked him with Dave Matthews though [IMG]
