I just made this delicious recipe so I thought I ought to post it here. It's a rich cakey cornbread.

1 c flour
1 c cornmeal
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda

2/3 c milk
4 oz melted butter
10 oz sour cream
2 fresh eggs

Optional
1 cup corn kernels
1 can roasted green chilies ( hatch if you can find them)

350f for 30-50 minutes depending on loaf size.

WOW 1 cup of sugar !!!!! IN Georgia we would not ever use that much sugar in Cornbread. I only use about 2 tablespoons . But I will try anything once !!!!!

Normally I wouldn't use that much sugar either, this is more like conrbread cake. It's very tasty though. Taht reminds me I've been thawing some of the frozen batter. I gotta go pour it in to my loaf pan.

Corn bread and hot wings for dinner!
