LOL I JUST GOT MY FIRST EGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [IMG]

My chickens are 27 weeks and 1 day old today (hatched June 16th) and I found this in the nest box this morning:

Here's the egg next to a large store bought egg for size comparison:

The hen that laid the egg...Friendly:

Congratulations. It's always so exciting and, my goodness, did they wait a while. Your hen reminds me of the two I have that lay the same green eggs. They are fantastic egg layers. They have nearly the same birth date too. Maybe ours came from the same hatchery-via-feed store.

Friendly's looking at the camera like, "What's the big deal already?"

Also, this time come spring, you won't be needing to buy any store eggs.[IMG]

  10. Quote:Oh you're spoiled now!! After having backyard fresh eggs (especially the blue/green ones), there's no turning back. You'll never be satisfied with the taste of the store bought ones from now on. [IMG]
