They look so cool!
OMG Chocolate Orpington i have been wanting them for years....
It's wonderful some one is importing these wonderful, old breeds that we don't have!!!! THANK YOU GREENFIRE FARMS!!
They are importing several breeds and kudos to them!
Now if they can import Prince Charles' Welsummers and some better Spitzhaubens, I would be interested.
Yeah- they probably made sooo much money with the light sussex- why not keep it going? I do like the breeds they've chosen though. I hope they put some of that $$ back into the care of the birds- seems like a decent operation.
Thanks for posting this, and we've gotten many nice people writing us at Greenfire Farms asking about the birds we're importing. As you know, over the centuries hedemora adapted to the very cold weather of northern Sweden by developing a heavy down on their bodies to hold in warmth. Some folks have asked about the 'furry' variety of hedemora that sports a heavy coat of the down. Rather than describe this amazing adaptation with words, here's a picture of a cockerel about 11 weeks old that is representative of this variety. The moral of the story: When in Sweden, bring your fur coat!
Cool! Do they grow ''regular' feathers over the down, or is it just the down?
They are very pretty Have they arrived yet? Or when will they? I would surely get some but Im just a little bit far away...
