This is such an exciting time for me! I have not had chickens since I was a child and i just got my flock two days ago. I'm already so obsessed with my little girls. I cannot wait to experience all the trials and tribulations of chicken ownership. My husband states I'm being a good mother hen to my babies but I think I am being paranoid. I can't stop checking in on my girls!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Congratulations on your new chicks! They are adorable! Just keep checking away, it is normal, you'll find it is called Chicken Television when you just can't stop watching them!
You might like to check out the BYC Learning Center, lots of good articles on all aspects of chicken keeping you'll find helpful for raising the chicks. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
And it is always fun to check out your state thread for chicken keeping neighbors https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/68894/colorado

And yes, it is hard not to go look in on them. As Kelsie said, Chick TV! I still find myself a nervous mommy and will get up at night with the slightest sound or at midnight just to check on the babies.

Enjoy your new chicks and make yourself at home here on BYC! Welcome to our flock!

You are not weird, you just have caught chicken addiction - once they get to be teenagers mouthing off about everything you will be happy they are out in the coop & run and not in the house.

Then you can move a chair out near the run and pretend you are trying to get a suntan instead of watching them.
