Hi all, I'm new to BYC and having backyard chickens in general. All I have to say is thank you for this site! This was where I did all of my research before deciding on whether backyard chickens were the thing for me. I just got 3 white silkies and 3 golden buff. I almost had a heart attack when I saw a huge lump on the right side of one of my golden buff chicks, thanks to a search on here I found out the chick just ate a lot and I am seeing its crop! Whew! I believe the silkies are about 3 days old, yesterday I tried feather sexing and I'm thinking I have all pullets...what do you think? This is what I believe to be the crop - looks larger in the picture. Here are my silkies - I think they are pullets? This is one of my Golden Buff - can you tell how old they are by the feathering?
