Greetings from Fairbanks Alaska! We have 4 Astralorps and 4 Amerucanas. They are 10 weeks old now. What an adventure! Last fall we built an insulated heated coop with run. All enclosed because we have a number of critters that love chicken dinners including the Siberian Husky, foxes, hawks, and lots of others. We have the unfortunate problem of tons of chick weed in the yard so I have been giving them a handful several times a day. When I come to the run, they come running for their treat! I built a swing for them in the run and they take turns rocking away.

    Hi :welcome
Glad you could join us here! If she is broody you need to decide if you would like her to hatch chicks or if you would like to break her from being broody?
Here are some threads on broody hens that I'm sure you will find most helpful ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=Broody+hens+#

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy your time here on BYC :frow
