Good evening to you all from lovely Devine, TX. We are just south-west of San Antonio, and we just got a little bit of rain (thank Heaven!). We just acquired our first chickens this past weekend. We got 4 Barred Rocks and 3 RIR's, all hens that are now reaching laying age (about 3-4 months). We got our first cute little egg Monday, and I have to tell you, it was pretty cool seeing that little thing laying in the nest. I am really looking forward to getting involved with this forum. I have been watching from a distance for a few weeks now, as we prepared to delve into the wonderful world of back yard chickens.
