Hello all. I am a new member from Summerville SC and am just starting to get some plans together to do a bit of chicken raising. I am not even sure I can legally have a flock in my area, It seems to be a state secret as a internet investigation and repeated emails to the zoning officials in my county have produced no solid information. It seems as if no one cares enough to even answer the questions (so much for government officials)
So if anyone can help lead me to some solid information so I can get my chickens in a row so to speak I would be greatful.
    Thanks and wish me luck.

[IMG] Welcome, hope you find the answers.

If you cannot get a straight answer try contacting the local planning and zoning dept. They are the ones who set the rules, I think.

Hello there and welcome to BYC! [IMG]

Have you called your local town hall yet? They should be able to answer all your questions on zoning laws. Definitely stop by the link to our Local Chicken Laws forums. Maybe you can glean some info there.

Great to have you aboard and I hope you can get some chickens soon!
