Hello! My name is Danielle and I am in San Joaquin County California. I am very excited to get my chickens, I am a newbie. I don't have any yet, but...soon! I'm going to start with about 15 chickens, then later I'll get ducks and geese too. I love this site! [IMG] Yay!

Quote:No, I'm preparing to build it, DH is in planting season but I'm too anxious to wait for his help so I may try to do it myself. We'll see what happens, it may come crashing down. I am planning to build in a brooder so they see their new home from the start. It's so fun planning. I have to figure out how to store rice hulls, we have so many flying around! I need something way bigger than a garbage pail, I'd fill that up in an afternoon during harvest. I need to keep them dry to use them as litter. Anyway, I am still planning.

DH said he'd dig me out a big pond (we have about 5 acres to play with) for when we eventually have ducks and geese. Hopefully my chicks will let the ducks bunk with them, do geese need to be inside at night?
