Hey guys here a the cliche standard introduction! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask here I'm my thread or shoot me a message!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

-I am new to chickens in a sense that we owned them as kids but they were family chickens. Now as the patriarch of my own family, it's my job to teach my wife and two daughters, whom have all never owned chickens, how to care for them and bring them up as other members of our family.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

4, we are hope to get another 2 in the set up we currently have. I may decide to wait for funds to build an even bigger expansion and get another 4.

(3) What breeds do you have?

We have 2 bantams (Peanut Butter and Little Mama), not sure exactly what kind. Our local TSC didn't offer much information on the bantams. Those belong to my youngest daughter and wife. My oldest daughter chose a large black sex-link (currently named Big Mama previously Moonlight, I'm sure it'll change again as her owner is 5 years old), and I have a Rhode Island Red named Alabama who, yes I'm guilty, is my favorite.

(4) How did you find out aboutBackYardChickens.com?

Browsing for coop ideas!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Spending time with my girls! We play outside often. We have a moderately sized backyard on the border of the city and township limits in our little town. We play outside as much as we can, especially since the snow melted!

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

As I said before, I am married to a wonderful woman. I have two of the most beautiful and loving daughters in the world. We also have a runty cat who is 8 years old. He cannot be bothered by the chickens, haha. We also have an American Pitbull Terrier, whois the friendliest and most loving pup in the universe. I rescued her from certain death while I was on duty as a Paramedic.

G’Day from down under droy…. :frow Welcome!

Great intro, thank you for sharing! :clap

If you post some pictures on the Breed or Gender Forum folks there will be able to help you with breed identification.

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
