I'm a farm girl, who's family always had chickens and various other animals. Currently I find myself in the distressing position of having an education but no job prospects, and most distressing of all... no livestock!
Using time-honored scrounging techniques coupled with cutting-edge innovations (yay craigslist!), I am cobbling together a small run that will fit under the porch, capable of housing three bantie hens or 15 cotournix quail, either of which could supply us with eggs.
I am aiming for the quail, others in the household have expressed a very slight preference for hens.
We shall see.
