Is there such thing as a grey checkered pigeon?
I have one similarly colored and I am trying to figure out what it is genetically. Remember there are only three base colors genetically, blue, ash red, and brown. But they are numerous genetic modifiers that influence the way the way the color appears. My guess for that one is base blue (which check or spread maybe?) but with some type of "opal" gene modifying it appearance.
This a dove mixture
Hes a young feral that i aquired. His sibling is the exact same color.
If his sibling is the same color I'd guess he is dominant opal, probably over blue checker.
